Anthem Spring Reminders

north valley real estate

With the warm weather approaching here are some reminders for Anthem residents.

  1. It’s now past the standard time for the last frost in Arizona.  So it is time to trim and remove the dead branches and plants in your landscaping.
  2. You can replace up to 8 plants in your yard without the approval of the Anthem or the Anthem Club HOA as long as the plants are on the approved list.
  3. Since we do not have daylight savings time be sure to replace your smoke detector batteries at least once a year.
  4. If you have a water filtration system, be sure to have it sanitized and filters replaced at least once a year.
  5. Adjust your landscaping watering system for the warmer months: more time, more days, and be sure to water early in the morning.
  6. With the warmer weather you may want to turn down your hot water heater, which is something you may need to play with until you find the right spot.
  7. Be more aware of critters- they are now coming out of the winter hibernation and becoming more active, especially after sunset.
  8. Change your heating and cooling filters monthly.
  9. You may want to have your cooling system tuned up for the hot summer.  If you do, use a reputable company not one that wants to sell services.
  10. If you have a pool or a spa, be sure to run the filtering system one hour a day for each 10 degrees of the outside temperature.  I.E.: 90 degrees outside, filter runs for 9 hours.
  11. Try to use your major electric usage during non-peak hours.
  12. Check with APS to be sure you are on the most economical plan for your household.

As always, please don’t hesitate to ask me any question.  I may not know the answer but am willing to investigate and find out.
