With the warm weather approaching here are some reminders for Anthem residents.
- It’s now past the standard time for the last frost in Arizona. So it is time to trim and remove the dead branches and plants in your landscaping.
- You can replace up to 8 plants in your yard without the approval of the Anthem or the Anthem Club HOA as long as the plants are on the approved list.
- Since we do not have daylight savings time be sure to replace your smoke detector batteries at least once a year.
- If you have a water filtration system, be sure to have it sanitized and filters replaced at least once a year.
- Adjust your landscaping watering system for the warmer months: more time, more days, and be sure to water early in the morning.
- With the warmer weather you may want to turn down your hot water heater, which is something you may need to play with until you find the right spot.
- Be more aware of critters- they are now coming out of the winter hibernation and becoming more active, especially after sunset.
- Change your heating and cooling filters monthly.
- You may want to have your cooling system tuned up for the hot summer. If you do, use a reputable company not one that wants to sell services.
- If you have a pool or a spa, be sure to run the filtering system one hour a day for each 10 degrees of the outside temperature. I.E.: 90 degrees outside, filter runs for 9 hours.
- Try to use your major electric usage during non-peak hours.
- Check with APS to be sure you are on the most economical plan for your household.
As always, please don’t hesitate to ask me any question. I may not know the answer but am willing to investigate and find out.
