Anthem Update 2.24.13

As the winter season here in Anthem is winding down many new things are happening.  The temperature is warming up and we are technically past the “freeze time” but of course once we believe that Murphy will show us wrong!  Days are getting longer which is nice for me.  Community voting for Council representatives will be taking place on March 15th.  Be sure to vote.  Our 14th Annual Anthem Days is coming on March 9th and 10th.  Music in the park will be her before you know it (our Friday evening entertainment in May and October).  Be sure to check with the Maricopa County Library as they expand programs for all ages.  Spring community athletic programs are getting started.  The Deer Valley Schools in Anthem, Boulder Creek, Anthem, Canyon Springs, Diamond Canyon, and Gavilan Peak are all starting this week.  At the K-8 schools, it is baseball and softball season.  For Boulder Creek, it is time for track and field, tennis for boys and girls, softball, baseball, and boys volleyball.

As the North Phoenix and Anthem area continues to grow, the demands of our area slowly are met.  In December of this year, 2013, there will be a new health center.  JC Lincoln will open the Sonoran Center which will house a emergency center, and a diagnostic and breast imaging center in the first phase.  The facility will be located south of Carefree Highway near I 17.  This will bring top notch health facilities to the Anthem and Tramonto area.  Reducing our travel times and providing much needed additional health care.
